My name is Mike Hillwig and I live in Salem, MA with my pug, Reggie. I'm a DBA (database administrator) with a high tech company. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, I moved to Providence in December 2004 and then to Boston in November 2005. March of 2008 brought me to Salem on the Massachusetts north shore.

What else do you want to know? I'm an aviation geek, a foodie, have some tattoos and live with Multiple Sclerosis. This year, I'm in my first season singing Baritone with the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. If there is anything else you'd like to know, just ask. I'm hardly shy.

LH425

I went to Target tonight to pick up a couple of little things and I saw a Lufthansa A340 taking off from Logan. It made me smile. There is something graceful and beautiful about the A340.  Sometimes I get jealous because I want to be on the aircraft that are taking off.  That wasn’t the case this time. I just smiled and wished them clear skies and safe travels.  A little later, I looked up the flight and saw that it was Lufthansa flight LH425 enroute to Munich. It’s scheduled to land at 8:10 AM local time. I’ll still be sound asleep when it lands.

A little later, I saw an Aer Lingus A330 taking off for Dublin. It was flight EI0132. It didn’t excite me as much.

1. I’d be excited about the plane to Dublin. I LOVE Dubin!!!
