My name is Mike Hillwig and I live in Salem, MA with my pug, Reggie. I'm a DBA (database administrator) with a high tech company. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, I moved to Providence in December 2004 and then to Boston in November 2005. March of 2008 brought me to Salem on the Massachusetts north shore.

What else do you want to know? I'm an aviation geek, a foodie, have some tattoos and live with Multiple Sclerosis. This year, I'm in my first season singing Baritone with the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. If there is anything else you'd like to know, just ask. I'm hardly shy.

Aviation Photo Jackpot

The planes had been flying over my house all day yesterday, which isn’t as common as I’d like. In order to take pictures, I usually have to get in my car and go closer to the airport. These were taken a few blocks from my house and I’m thrilled. They’ve been submitted to airliners.net, and I hope they get accepted. These are quite possibly the best aviation photos I’ve ever taken.

I took the resized ones out the airliners.net photographers queue, that’s why you see the banners on them.

This is an American Airlines 737-800

And this is an Air France A340 taking off for Paris.

1. where can i go to check out the planes take off and land….ive always wanted a spot to go chill and watch em?
   can u email me a good spot?
   my gf’s father is a pilot and i wanted to suprise her with a spot to watch planes…coz she is into them too.
