About

My name is Mike Hillwig and I live in Salem, MA with my pug, Reggie. I'm a DBA (database administrator) with a high tech company. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, I moved to Providence in December 2004 and then to Boston in November 2005. March of 2008 brought me to Salem on the Massachusetts north shore.

What else do you want to know? I'm an aviation geek, a foodie, have some tattoos and live with Multiple Sclerosis. This year, I'm in my first season singing Baritone with the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. If there is anything else you'd like to know, just ask. I'm hardly shy.

Accessories

My Rebif (the new meds) comes with a bag for all of the accessories. Not only is it stylish and fashionable, but it helps me live longer, too!

This is the said bag. It looks like any other toiletry bag.

But once you open it up, it contains an identification card that identifies the contents and is meant for those who travel abroad. It’s a nice touch.

The back pocket contains space for an ice pack (included) and a plastic piece to prevent the meds from actually touching the ice. It can hold upto six doses, I believe. That should be enough for about two weeks of travel.

The center pocket contains enough space to hold the auto injector and the small sharps container for travel.  Don’t let the phalic shape of the sharps container fool you.  It’s really just a sharps container.

I may joke about this little bag being fashionable, but it’s so much better than the little cooler I used to carry around for my Avonex.  Lets see how well I do on the new meds now.
