Mike is fine and recovering
Apr 4th, 2008 by smeg

This is a quick message from Paul. I just got off the phone with Mikes father, and it sounds like the operation to amputate his left leg went fine, and Mike is adjusting to the new artificial limb well – at least as far as they can tell at this early stage.

Just kidding. Mike is now minus one gall bladder and should be home by the end of today once he is out of the second stage recovery. He’ll have some fun with food for a few weeks yet though!

Please Help the Milkmaid

My friend Joy is a tattoo artist and a good one at that. Recently, her Brooklyn apartment was broken into, not once, but twice. All of her tattoo equipment and supplies have been stolen right before she was to start on a tour.

Joy now needs to spend a lot of money to replace everything that was stolen. If you could help by donating some money to help her replace everything she needs to earn a living, that would be great.

It’s a boy!
Apr 6th, 2006 by Mike

My coworker Debbie is VERY pregnant and could give birth at any minute now. Her husband (the one who helped me move into this apartment) doesn’t want her driving, and that makes perfect sense. He took her to work this morning, but by 9:45, she was starting to have some pains. I drove her home.

About 2:00 this afternoon, I put out an e-mail to my department with a subject line of “It’s a boy!” When you opened the e-mail, it said “Just kidding. No baby yet!” It was a mean but fun prank.  Seriously, I expect this baby to happen at any time now.

When I got home, there were a few goodies in my mailbox. I bought a new pair of 7/8” silicone eyelets for my ears. They’re still a bit big, but since they’re silicone, they’re comfortable.  Anyway, my ears will be at 7/8” before too long. But I don’t plan on going a whole lot bigger than that.

I also got my new EZPass transponder.  I’ve had one for about three years, and it was issued by the PA Turnpike Commission. Well, since I’m going to be moving to East Boston, I’ll qualify for a discount on certain tunnels, but it requires I get a transponder issued by MassPike. So that’s one less thing I’ll have to worry about down the road.
