Premium transatlantic airline Eos has gone belly-up. They only flew New York to London in an all-business class configuration. The concept was good, but in this market, the big guys are playing hardball. I fear for Silverjet, who offers a similar service.
This is a shame because I always wanted to fly them.
I’m not actively looking for a new job, but this one really caught my attention.
I don’t have the experience with large storage systems, nor do I have the experience with multi-terabyte systems. Still, it sounds like an interesting position.
I went with Kraig, Mark, and their friend AJ to see Hairspray tonight at the Wang Theater in Boston. It was fantastic.
Never before have I seen a scene “bust” until tonight. The actors were laughing and lost their composure.
These guys were a lot of fun, and I enjoyed myself a lot.
I went to see the surgeon today to follow up after my surgery. She says I’m doing fine. I’ve been having some discomfort around some of the incision sites. She says that will get worse before it gets better but it’s perfectly common. In our discussion, she drew me a picture of what a normal gallbladder should look like and what mine looked like. Wow. Mine had developed kind of a neck with a stone stuck in that neck. Eventually, that stone would push out and create a hole between the gallbladder and the bladder. That would have been really bad.
My GI system has stabilized and the… um… output… is back to normal. She says I shouldn’t have to worry about what I eat now. For a while, there was a really good chance that eating would give me the runs, and that’s no longer a problem.
My company is sponsoring Boston Pride this year. How cool is this? (link)
I mentioned before that I met another gay guy with MS and his partner at the MS Walk. They had an extra ticket to see Hairspray in Boston on Saturday and they’ve invited me to join them. I’m really excited about this. Not only should it be a good show, but these guys seem really great.
I’m sitting here watching the Pennsylvania election results. Butler County, where I grew up, is currently showing Clinton with 67% and Obama with 33%. It makes me feel a little better to see that Allegheny County, where I spent a majority of my adult life, is going to Obama. Armstrong County, where my dad grew up, has gone Clinton with 74%. These numbers are still preliminary but still shocking. In some parts of my home state, Senator Clinton really mopped the floor with Senator Obama.

Reggie was still hungry after eating his supper and decided to camp out in the pantry, staring at the cabinet where I store his kibble and cookies, and patiently waiting for me to get the hint that he was still hungry.
Because he’s not spoiled, I only gave him enough kibble to give the illusion that he was eating again. No, he’s not spoiled at all.
I’ve been reading John Grisham’s The Appeal. Well, I started it about a month ago but haven’t picked it up since my surgery. I finished it tonight. Actually, I burned through the last third of it tonight.
Grisham is known for fast paced novels, and this one was no exception. The ending made me about piss my pants, and I wasn’t happy when the book was over. It was a serious let down. It makes me want to say it was a bad book, but the fact that I blew through it tells me that it was a good book.
Tomorrow is Patriot’s Day, also known as the day the Boston Marathon is run. It’s also known as Avoid the City at all Costs day. It’s a floating holiday for us at work, meaning that I can work if I chose. If I do work, I get a day off in the future. If I don’t work, well, I get paid like it’s a holiday.
My alarm is set. Lets see if I decide to go to work after all.
Well, the weekend is almost over, and I made five trips to Home Depot and a trip to the Kane’s Flower World in the course of 48 hours, easily spending $300.
First, these little guys are popping up in my back yard, and I have no idea what they are, but they’re pretty. I have no idea how well they’ll hold up because they look a bit delicate.
The thing I spent a good chunk of time on are the flower boxes that are attached to the deck. That alone accounted for two trips to Home Depot and a trip to the garden center. The first flower boxes weren’t wide enough and the second ones were too high. One box has petunias, one has parsley and rosemary, and the last one has a combination of petunias and panseys. The photos didn’t come out all that well because the water had them a bit drenched. But they’ll perk up in a day or two.
