I’m lacking the gay gene that allows me to dance, and that explains why I suck at playing “Dance Dance Revoluation.” I’ve gotten my ass kicked at this game by two different straight men.

When was the last time you had a good old fashioned rootbeer float?

I woke up to something exciting this morning. There was a dead mouse in my kitchen. How could this be exciting? Easy. The mouse was in one of the traps I had set.

I almost took a picture of it but figured that was a bit too much.

When one lives in Boston, one expects mice.

I put in a second monitor at work today. Well, I put it on the desktop and Ozzy from our helpdesk actually put in a second video card to support it.  It’s actually an older monitor that was sitting on a shelf.

You see, I run a piece of monitoring software called Spotlight on SQL Server. It’s a great piece of technology from Quest Software that lets me see in real-time what’s happening on my SQL servers.  Notice that the monitor isn’t directly beside my 19” Sony monitor with Reggie’s picture as the desktop.  I wanted it off to the side so it’s not directly in my line of sight all the time. This will allow me to see what’s going on without it being directly in my face.

Between the two monitors sits my phone and wireless headset.  Just to the right of the smaller monitor is my Sirius receiver.

To the left of my Sony monitor sits my laptop.  If you look closely, you’ll see Reggie’s bed under the desk.

One of the awesome things about my office would be the lights. Felix, our office services supervisor, totally hooked me up there. I have the full spectrum lights. The walls went from DMV yellow to beige. The pictures you see here were taken without my camera’s flash.

May I tell you that tonight’s Shear Genius is a relief. It’s about time that hack got sent home. I’m glad my boy Ben is going onto the finale. Really, I just want him to fuck me.

I’m still a bit disappointed that Tabatha got cut last week. That bitch has talent!

For a day that started out shitty, it got much better.

I was surprisingly productive. It probably didn’t hurt that my boss was in training all day. There is only one thing left on my white board and I will have that done soon. I did have to work a little late to move some databases between servers. We’ve outgrown the concept of all databases on a single server, and we’re moving some of our secondary apps to a different server.

The sunglasses have been found. They were on the passenger side car seat under the sheet I put down for Reggie to sit on.

Speaking of, Reggie is feeling better since I gave him the metacam this morning. I took my bed off it’s rails thinking that he was hurting himself jumping up and down from the bed.

Tonight is the new episode of Shear Genius. I might just have to let the TiVo catch that one and watch it tomorrow.
